When my husband died, I chose to officiate his funeral. This was a life changing experience and I went on to train with the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants and more recently with One Spirit Interfaith Foundation. I am currently studying with The Order of Bards Ovates and Druids.
During these trainings I have drawn on the experience of others, accessing my own inner wisdom and enhancing my listening and counselling skills, which supports my consultations with couples and families.
Exploring different religions, spirituality, atheism, cultural diversity and rituals, has further developed my skills and abilities as a celebrant, enabling me to offer more inclusive and bespoke ceremonies to people from all walks of life.
Throughout our lives there are many ‘Rites of Passage’. Opportunities for us to celebrate and reflect. It is on these special occasions we need to know the celebrant is right for us. I therefore offer an initial ‘no obligation’ meeting to discuss your requirements.
When you then choose to use my services, I will meet with you again in person, listen, discuss your loves, likes and wishes then craft and deliver a heartfelt ceremony that may be spiritual, part-religious or non-religious according to your preferences.
I Really Love…
…ceremonies using nature as our backdrop in the dramatic Lake District, whether you are looking for a handfasting, same-sex wedding, vow renewal or naming ceremony. It will be my privilege to create a sacred space, that truly reflects your preferences, is completely unique and will initiate a lasting and beautiful memory.
I respect and honour the natural world and our place within it. We all recognise that love and compassion are common to all faith paths and none. As a celebrant I offer my services in any location, but I feel especially privileged when I work with a couple or family to create a meaningful ceremony outdoors, surrounded by nature. Albert Einstein said; “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
